THE ZOO KEEPER'S WIFE

This is the book I am listening to now. I think it is great, I have never heard of the author , but I am her biggest fan now.

She is a poet and her writing reflects it.

It is a narrative, historical story, and I am sure ALL our bloggers will want to listen.

Okay I started this one this morning. I am not spellbound yet but you haven't steered me wrong yet (in book selections), so I expect good things. I thought you had already read this one because it seems like you had mentioned it before.

See also Safe Haven: The Warsaw Zoo. This is short documentary on the net, shows film clips and photos of the story.

Finished TZW and am still enjoying it--guess that is the sign of a GOOD book.

I am listening to The Help now. So far real southern and so real I realize (too many reals?) that I LIVED the book.

Got any books to suggest?

You mentioned a Murakami book about his life earlier. I read his memoir, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. I'm not sure if that is the one you mean, but it is worthwhile, especially for a fan of all his other books.

Did you finish ZKW? If so I am waiting for a report, review, pan, discussion---something!

Yes I did finish it. I thought it was very good. I don't think it I loved it quite as much as you but I would still recommend it. At first it seemed to me that she was over describing the minutia but as the book progressed, it became more real and interesting. I have already finished another book since that one and will give a brief review of it soon.
