Apparently this practice of killing the frogs with citric acid is controversial, as is whether or not they should be cleared from the island at all.
well the coqui frogs only predator is the rat and with more of these frogs then there are more rats. Many of the palms trees in Hawaii have aluminum bands around the trunks supposedly the keep the rats from climbing the trees where the frogs are and keep the rats from falling out of the trees on people's heads!
