The Psychopath Test
I recently listened to 'The Psychopath Test' by Jon Ronson on audio. It's by a journalist who writes about his efforts to learn about the "mental health industry" and psychopaths in particular. It is narrated by the author and the Welsh accent took a little time to get used to but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Along the way he discusses a mysterious book called "Being or Nothingness" and his trek to find and meet its author who turns out to be eccentric but not likely a psychopath. The book is not the central theme but it is mentioned throughout and I found it intriguing. According to Wikipedia 'The Psychopath Test' spent all of 2012 on the UK Best Seller list and 10 weeks on the NYT Best Seller List. I had not heard of this book and discovered it on a message board post discussing non fiction books that are a must read. That was also where I found the book Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. It was really good too.
Hummm, psychopaths and cadavers....maybe we SHOULD talk.
