The CC is a "club" founded by a small group of medical professionals, who have made a pastime of turning medical cases and discussions into medically irrelevant history lessons, philosophical rants, and displays of one-upsmanship. The official premise, since the "club" was named, has been to exchange and discuss various books, movies, and ideas. Sometimes we eat sushi.

This is not true. I attempted to do so in order to put a stop to the comment spamming which has begun since the blog's participation in Grand Rounds. Haloscan commenting is really neat but when I installed it, I was horrified to find that all prior comments had been erased. Luckily I had saved a backup of the old template so that once I restored it, all the old comments came back. I will see if I can figure out how to fix that. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I'll just leave this super crappy comment spam here for everyone to admire while I try to figure out a way to use Haloscan without losing past comments, or to find another way prevent this mess. I guess the first thing will be to stop allowing anonymous comments.
I haven't seen the word verification option on blogger before, but I just happened to notice it at just the right time. Since we now have this, I will continue to allow anonymous comments. Its one thing for a robot to hammer away all day at low traffic blogs like this, but if a person actually thinks it is worth his time to manually spam every post on this site, I feel sorry for him.
